The history of ELASTIC Kft. goes back more than a century, to the late 1870s, when the family's founder learned the art of passementerie in Leipzig. This traditional craft, which produced decorative trimmings from silk, wool, cotton, silver and gold thread, was an essential part of Hungarian folk costume and furniture. Precision and a love of textiles have been handed down in the family through generations.
In 1972 the family's knowledge met entrepreneurial spirit, and the first weaving workshop was born, starting out with zip tapes and elastic tapes. After the change of regime, in 1991, ELASTIC Kft. was officially founded and grew from a small craft workshop into a modern, professional textile company.
Today ELASTIC Kft. makes several hundred different products, including elastic tapes, piping and binding tapes, cords and webbing, made from materials such as cotton, polyester, polypropylene and viscose. The company's products are available in a wide range of sizes and colours and are used in many industries, including sportswear, bag making and furniture.
